Nhat Le Quang Binh river originates from U Bo mountain in Truong Son range, flows straight to the East Sea at Nhat Le estuary. The river has a length of 85km including 2 branches: Kien Giang River flows through Le Thuy district and Dai Giang river (Long Dai) flows through Quang Ninh district, the two branches meet in Trung Quan.

Right next to Nhat Le River, there is an early market called Dong Hoi market. This is the largest market in the city. At the back of the market, there is a fishing station with the image of boats bustling in and out. Every day, at dawn and mid-afternoon, many fishing boats return to bring seafood ashore. The boats regularly dock every day to supply the city with seafood.
