YEN BAI – Not only known as a cloudy paradise, Tram Tau district is also home to the “moss kingdom” of Ta Xua and Ta Chinh Nhu flower hill.

Ta Lead Nhu (Xa Ho village, Tram Tau district) with an altitude of 2,979 m, ranked 7th in the 10 highest mountains in Vietnam, is considered the roof of Yen Bai province. The road to conquer Ta Lead Nhut about 18 km long is almost steep. This place is one of the ideal cloud hunting spots in the Northern mountainous region, attracting many tourists who love to climb, including Mr. Vu Ngoc Truong (1991).

In the last days of autumn, the way to Ta Chinh Nhu was covered with purple color of chi pau flower. That is one of the reasons why a construction engineer carried a backpack to go to the top of the mountain.

“Chi Pang” in the local Mong language means “don’t know, don’t understand”. Every late October to about a month later, flowers bloom on the edge of the mountain, with a deep purple color depending on the time of day.

Around 4:00 p.m. on the second day of the journey, at an overnight shelter at an altitude of approximately 2,400 m, the group had a chance to see the dense sea of clouds. Starting from Hanoi, Mr. Vu Ngoc Truong and his group of friends took 3 days to complete the trip. In which, the time for climbing up and down the mountain is about 16 hours in total, according to Truong’s actual time.

At 8:00 on the third day, Mr. Truong was present at the top of Ta Lead Nhut. After taking a photo check-in with the pinpoint of the coordinates, the members of the group freely found a suitable position to take with the sea of clouds in the air.

On the path through Ta Chinh Nhu mountain, sometimes a glimpse of horses and goats of local people grazing on the flower hill, as described in fairy tales, Mr. Truong described.

After the pressure of a busy and industrial construction profession, Mr. Truong is especially excited when he can set foot in the natural scenery, where the air is fresh, bold local culture.

Ta Xua mountain is located between Son La and Yen Bai provinces. This road to the top of the mountain is 2,865 meters high, starting in Ban Cong commune, Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province.

According to Mr. Ngoc Truong, if Ta Chinh Nhu is not too difficult to take a leisurely walk and admire the scenery, Ta Xua challenges the endurance and spirit of visitors.

The most difficult part of the trip is to pass about 7 km on the ” dinosaur backbone “. The way down the path was erect, fortunately the local people made steel wire to cling to. “Some sections on the trail of the spine are dangerous because of the strong wind, the two sides are the abyss”, Truong said.

The mountain trail leads visitors to an ancient forest covered with green moss. This mysterious scene is a favorite check-in spot for climbers, and is also the location of the highest landmark of Ta Xua.

The road between the shack and the top of Ta Xua, you can ask the porter (the carrier and the guide) to point out the turtle-shaped ledge, the famous check-in point of the guests who have conquered this road. . The time to conquer Ta Xua is equivalent to the Ta Lead Nhu trip, if departing from Hanoi.

From Hanoi, you can self-drive bus ride to Nghia Lo (Yen Bai), ticket price 150,000 – 200,000 VND / one way. When you arrive at Nghia Lo, you go to Tram Tau by taxi (350,000 VND / way) or motorbike taxi (about 100,000 – 150,000 VND / time). From the district center, you choose the direction to go to Xa Ho commune to conquer Ta Lead Nhut peak, or go to Ban Cong commune to cross Ta Xua peak.

The ideal time to see Ta Xua and Ta Lead Nhut is in winter and spring (November – April).
