The Minister of Culture – Sports and Tourism has just signed a decision to classify the building as the Head Office of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City (District 1, HCMC) as a national architectural monument.
The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City is assigned to perform the state management of this relic in accordance with the law on cultural heritage.
Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee headquarters was built from 1898 to 1909, newly completed, designed by architect Femand Gardès, but the original decoration was done by painter – sculptor Ruffier. This famous work is over a hundred years old, is an architectural highlight in the center of Ho Chi Minh City and attracts the attention of visitors.
