Vietnam receives ‘Asia’s Leading Destination award

Vietnam won the “Asia’s Leading Destination” award at the World Travel Awards 2021.

The World Travel Awards, known as the Oscars of the tourism industry, selected Vietnam to become Asia’s Leading Destination, surpassing Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal and Laos. . The winning countries are voted on by experts in the tourism industry and the public.

This is the title Vietnam has won in 2019 and 2018. From March 2020, Vietnam is still closed to international tourism due to Covid-19, which is expected to open from the end of November.

In addition to the title of “Asia’s Leading Destination”, Vietnam was also honored as “Asia’s Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination” (Asia’s Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination) and the National Administration of Tourism received the title “Tourism Management Agency”. Specific landmarks in Vietnam also received Asia’s top awards, including Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh) winning the “Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction” award, Hoi An (Quang Nam) winning in the category. “Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination” and Cuc Phuong National Park (Ninh Binh) were awarded “Asia’s Leading National Park”. This is the third year in a row that Cuc Phuong has won this title.

In the resort and hotel category , Vietnam won 17 different awards for resorts such as Avana Retreat, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort, Hotel de la Coupole Mgallery, InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort… and some theme parks, amusement parks, airlines…
