History of Van Linh An Giang Pagoda
Van Linh Pagoda is also known as Konoha because it was originally built with thatched roof and simple earth walls in 1927. Currently, the pagoda is located on Cam Mountain. Vo Dau hamlet, An Hao commune, Tinh Bien district, An Giang with an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. To have a spacious position as today, the top place attracts tourists to admire and visit. This place has to pay through extremely difficult historical periods.

Since its establishment, although small, with the healing virtues of Venerable Thich Thien Quang, this temple gradually becomes famous and attracts people to visit. Therefore, in 1941, the pagoda was renovated to be bigger and named Van Linh pagoda until today. But in 1945, due to the fierce destruction of war, bombs and ammunition made this place seriously damaged. People evacuated everywhere, until 1976 it was rebuilt temporarily due to lack of funds.

In 1995, after a long time, Venerable Thich Tri Tinh restored and embellished the temple to be more spacious. With a total area of 6ha, including many large areas with: main hall, stupa, To church, bell floor, … Since then, Van Linh An Giang Pagoda has always been an important place to worship not only for the people. Seven Mountains land, at the same time becomes an attractive tourist destination for those who once visit this western land, to lose themselves in the pure air and admire the impressive scenery.

Location and special design
In terms of topography, this temple is also located in a very favorable position in feng shui. Van Linh Pagoda in An Giang Cam Mountain is majestic and sturdy with a mountain leaning back close to the Bo Hong hillside, in front of which is Thuy Liem lake cool. The campus is arranged with green trees to create airy, flowers grown everywhere. Walking here listening to the bell and the scenery also gives you a sense of tranquility, dispelling all everyday fatigue.

And the most impressive thing can not be ignored Guan Yin Sand Bao built in the style of Bodh Gaya of India. The height is up to 40 meters with 7 floors, each floor worshiping a Bodhisattva or Buddha carved with gemstones and 2 ground floors and roof. The floors of the Quan Am Sand Bao at Van Linh An Giang Pagoda include:
– 1st floor: where the statue of Bodhisattva Di Lac weighs 2.6 tons, representing pronouns.
– Level 2: Worship place of Jizō Bodhisattva, representing great aspiration.
– 3rd floor: the place of worshiping Pho Hien Bodhisattva, representing great virtue.
– 4th floor: the place of worshiping the Bodhisattva Van Thu weighs 1.6 tons, representing great intelligence.
– Floor 5: Worship place of Bodhisattva Dai The Chi, symbolic power.
– 6th floor: the place of worshiping Bodhisattva Quan The Am, symbolizes great compassion.
– 7th floor: place to worship Buddha Sakyamuni relics.

When visiting the temple there are some notes you should also keep in mind:
– Besides Buddha’s Birthday in general, on the anniversary of Venerable Thich Thien Quang – the founder of the pagoda (on November 23, 24 of the lunar calendar every year) you can come to combine tourism to the temple and visit. join this solemn event. – Next to Van Linh An Giang Pagoda , to this place you should also visit the Big Buddha Temple right next door. The temple is famous for the tallest statue of Maitreya Buddha in Asia, up to 33.6 meters high and recognized by UNESCO.
