1 . Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hanoi

Located in the east of West Lake, Tay Ho district, Tran Quoc Pagoda is one of the temples in Hanoi that you should visit at least once in your life.

During the Ly – Tran dynasty, this pagoda was chosen as the Buddhist center of Thang Long citadel. Today, Tran Quoc Pagoda is not only a spiritual destination of Hanoi people but also a tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists. 

Tran Quoc Pagoda has an overall area of ​​about 3000m2 with many trees and a lake in front, creating a poetic but still majestic scene of the spiritual place in the heart of the capital.

Tran Quoc is a pagoda built according to the Tonkin sect, consisting of 3 main houses: the front street, the burnt house, the upper house connected together to form the word Cong. In 1989, Tran Quoc Pagoda was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic.

2 . One Pillar Pagoda of Hanoi

One Pillar Pagoda, also known as Mat Pagoda, Dien Huu Tu or Lien Hoa Dai, is one of the temples with unique architecture in the heart of Hanoi capital.

The pagoda is built mainly of wood, has a main stone pillar, above the column is a small temple and surrounded by a clear blue lake. In general, this design is very similar to a lotus flower growing on a lake. Although it has been renovated and remodeled many times, until now, One Pillar Pagoda still retains the inherent quiet and ancient features.

3. Phuc Khanh pagoda, Hanoi

Being a temple located in a residential area of ​​Dong Da district, these small temples are always crowded with Buddhists from near and far who come to worship and pray for peace.

Phuc Khanh Pagoda was built in the Hau Le period, up to now has been restored and renovated many times, but still retains the old traditional architecture with Tam Quan including 3 arches, the main door is larger than the two side doors.

4 . Hanoi Quan Su Pagoda

It’s located at 73 Quan Su, Hoan Kiem District, about 1 km from Hoan Kiem Lake. The pagoda was built in the 15th century. Up to now, it is the headquarters of the Central Vietnam Buddhist Association. Quan Su Pagoda has a bold architecture of the Northern Midlands Delta with its dome and tile scales.

5. Ha Noi Dau Pagoda

It is a pagoda in Gia Phuc village, Nguyen Trai commune, Thuong Tin district, Hanoi. Dau Pagoda worships the goddess Phap Vu, also known as Mrs. Dau. The pagoda is about 24 km south of Hanoi city center. This temple has a unique architecture in the style of “pre-Buddha, post-saint” typical for folk art flourishing in the 17th century.

Tam Quan of the temple is a common attic, two floors with eight roofs. The roof of the comedy is so high, the columns, beams are carved wide, the column legs and stone pedestals are carved with lotus flowers. In addition, the eight-door door sets are all touches with four precious spirits, four precious stones, lacquer, gold,….

Especially at Dau pagoda there are two burial statues of two monks Vu Khac Minh and Vu Khac Truong. These are the two monks abbot of Dau Pagoda, after he died, leaving the Body of Xa Loi.
