An Hien garden house was built in the late nineteenth century with a model design of Hue garden house architecture, and strongly influenced by feng-shui law. According to the records, the first owner of the house was the 18th princess of King Duc Duc and this was the princess palace. Through many changes of owners, ownership is still in the hands of princes and elites in Hue. The person who has been with this house for the longest time must mention Mrs. Dao Thi Xuan Yen – inheriting her husband’s inheritance, the patrol of Ha Tinh, who died in 1940. At that time, An Hien was not only a private house but also a place. frequented by many people, the intellectuals and the stage of strong development. Although over a century of existence, but the architectural space of the house still retains its ancient characteristics to this day.
A cool, ancient, quiet green space
The complex of works is nearly 5,000 m2 wide with architecture and nature blending. Step through a simple archway built of lime and stucco, visitors walk on a road of more than 20 meters long, surrounded by rows of white plum trees shading into shade.

The small, beautiful old house has a tiled roof, the roof of both sides is covered with a dragon, in the middle of the roof is a lotus shape. The entire inner frame is made of wood, the middle room has an altar decorated according to the principle of “pre-Buddha after Linh” (worship Buddha first, ancestors behind). The side booths were arranged with tables and chairs and a set of Kim Long tea pots and drinks in the house, there were also noble panels in the house: 4 words “Van Vo Trung Hieu” given to the family by King Bao Dai in 1937 and many poems by King Thanh Thai.

There are all 48 columns with the same system because the rafters are definitely made of jackfruit wood, the partition in the house is ironwood. Each pattern and motif on the column, because the rafter is intricately carved; Furniture and treasures of the Nguyen court were neatly arranged and tidy.
