Bac Ninh has many famous sacred temples near and far and attracts tourists during the spring holidays.
1. But Thap Pagoda
Traveling to Bac Ninh on spring day, you cannot ignore the ancient But Thap pagoda (Thuan Thanh, Bac Ninh) located on the bank of Duong river.
Despite undergoing restoration and repair, the pagoda still retains its pristine features attractive by its unique beauty of architectural art and peaceful space.
Here, you can admire many ancient and precious statues. In which, the most prominent is the largest wooden thousand-eyed Quan The Am statue in Vietnam, 2.35 m high.

2. Temple of the Buddha
Located on the side of Van Phuc mountain (Phat Tich commune, Tien Du district), the old temple is called Van Phuc Tu – one of the earliest places to spread Buddhism from India to Vietnam.
From Hanoi, only about 20 km, you can set foot here, a national cultural monument with great antiques of Buddhism preserved. The temple has a pure, ancient space that makes you leave all the sorrows of life outside.
Visitors will admire many large and small Buddha statues, Amitabha Buddha statues dating from the Ly dynasty made of monolithic blue stone 1.85m high, considered the oldest Ly stone Buddha statue in the North. On the top of Buddha Tich mountain is a 27m high statue, exquisitely carved.
In addition, the temple also owns 5 pairs of the largest stone summoned beasts in Vietnam; the burial statue of Zen master Chuyet Chuyet; 32 stupas (seventeenth century – twentieth century) …
3. Strawberry Temple
Dau Pagoda is the oldest Buddhist temple in Vietnam, another name is Dien Ung Pagoda, located in Thanh Khuong commune, Thuan Thanh district.
Dau Pagoda is also known with many different names such as Phap Van Pagoda, Dien Ung Pagoda, Ca Pagoda, this is one of the beautiful temples in Bac Ninh and is considered the oldest temple in Vietnam. The pagoda was built in the style of “foreign internal public affairs” consisting of 4 rows of houses placed in a rectangle surrounding three main houses: Tien Duong, Thien Huong and Thuong Dien.
A special feature of this temple is the worshiping statues, in the middle of the pagoda there is a statue of Ba Dau, also known as the statue of the goddess Phap Van, 2m high, on the two sides of the statue are Kim Dong and Ngoc Nu statues.
