About Truc Lam Da Lat Zen Monastery
Truc Lam Dalat Monastery is located on the top of Phung Hoang Mountain, overlooking the peaceful and poetic Tuyen Lam lake. This is the largest Buddhist work in the country and is also one of the three largest monasteries in Vietnam belonging to the Thien Yen Tu sect.

According to records, in 1986, Thich Thanh Tu dreamed that he was holding the neck of a phoenix and flying to the sky. From this dream, he realized, Da Lat is really suitable as a gathering place for monks and nuns – because of the favorable climate, nature, freshness and tranquility.
A few days later, Thich Thanh Tu immediately sketched out the diagram for the monastery after surveying Phung Hoang Mountain. This monk is also the master of the idea and planning of the monastery and up to now is also the abbot of Truc Lam Dalat Zen Monastery!

By 1993, Truc Lam Da Lat Zen Monastery was put into construction, and very quickly after only 1 year the monastery was completed. The owners of this design are architects Tran Duc Loc, Ngo Viet Thu and Vu Xuan Hung.
The monastery has the layout of 4 main areas, the Abbot monk area, the internal hospital area, the inner and the nun area. Truc Lam Zen Monastery is located in a very favorable location, leaning on the back of the mountain, overlooking the romantic lake, only about 5km from the center of Da Lat city towards Prenn Pass.

How to go to Truc Lam Da Lat monastery
Truc Lam Zen Monastery is located on Truc Lam Yen Tu Street, ward 10 of Da Lat city . You can go to the monastery from the city center, follow the direction of Da Lat market, cross Ong Dao bridge, then turn left onto Tran Quoc Toan Street. Go straight to the 3rd April through Prenn Pass. On the way, you will see the road showing Phung Hoang Mountain with a large golden Buddha statue, you turn right and go straight to lead to Truc Lam Da Lat Monastery.

- Opening hours to visit: 5:00 – 21:00
- The monastery is a pure place and is a practice place for many Buddhists. Therefore, polite clothing, short pants, short skirts and sensitive clothing are not allowed.
- At the main hall, people have to remove their shoes when doing pilgrimage, to worship Buddha.
- Photos are not allowed inside the main hall.
- Some areas prohibit visitors to visit such as the inner-monk and inner-ni area.
- The entrance to Tuyen Lam Lake has 140 steps, if there are frail elderly people, you should not go.
