Born in 1981, a relatively “old” age compared to Vietnamese travel blogger/vlogger, Tran Viet Phuong (Travip) still has a special attraction thanks to the exploitation of hard-to-reach content. The life associated with flights brings many special experiences for this “uncle” in the vlogger world.
“35 years old, I have to live with my family”
It is a story that, when thinking about it, the owner of the Love Bay channel must admit he is still embarrassed.
Before pursuing a job as a content on social networks, Viet Phuong used to be a reporter for two major newspapers in Vietnam. He spent 5 years as a permanent resident in Thailand, undertaking many political events of the land of the Golden Temple and learned deeply about the culture and human life here.
However, since returning to Vietnam, Travip is no longer able to travel and travels as much as he did when he was a permanent resident of a foreign country. Journalism related to the international sector often makes him associate himself with a laptop at the office. Sometimes when there is an event, he has the chance to go away.
After 10 years working in journalism, the Hanoi-born vlogger realizes that he has no passion and wants to go more.

“In 2016, I resigned from my job and decided to invest in video content creation. Since I did journalism, around 2014, I have read many predictions that low-cost airlines will thrive in Southeast Asia. .
This gives more people the opportunity to experience flying more. In Vietnam, travel blogger and vlogger at that time also appeared more, but no one really delved into this area, “he shared.
Right now, things are on track with Travip’s prediction. However, the days when he started to quit his job, his life was like a mess with no way out.
From working with stable wages to freelancers (freelance), the income of the 40-year-old vlogger suddenly returns to zero. Success also does not come quickly. In the first 3 months, the views were super low, the number of followers was also sparse.

“At the age of 35, people started to gain fame and I started over from zero. That’s a paradox. There were times when I thought of going back to work, but that started zero again. The job I choose is like a one-way street, I have no way back.
Without income, I have to depend on my family even though I am 35 years old. The situation was really unsightly, thinking back to be terribly embarrassing, “Travip said sourly.
Less income, no lover
Around 2018, Travip had the intention to quit making video content related to aircraft. However, thanks to a video review of a new aircraft by a Vietnamese airline, he suddenly got more attention. Viet Phuong considers it a great push for him to continue this work.
Currently, Travip’s income is basically stable, more or less depending on the time. However, he asserted that the amount of money he earned was not as much as when he was a journalist.
“The cost of the review is large so the real income is not too high. Compared to when I was a journalist, my income is not better. If I work at work, I just put in effort and collect money. In this job, I have to invest more but the profit is not equal, “answered Viet Phuong.

On the other hand, his work also makes the distance from family and friends further away. Otherwise there will be no content. However, going too much, he did not have time for loved ones. At the age of 40, Travip revealed that he also did not have a lover.
“A job like this is difficult to find a lover. If I love someone, I hope they will sympathize and understand my work,” Travip said.
Before the Covid-19 translation broke out, on average, this vlogger flew about 120 flights a year. That means that the trip has to board once every 3 days. This makes the owner of the Love Airplane channel … afraid of airplanes. Viet Phuong shared that if he did not have to work, shoot, shoot, when he got on the plane, he would just go to bed and hope to land quickly.
“Maybe a little bit tired,” he said.
Motivation to go on
Although tiring, this vlogger still loves his job. Sharing with Zing , Travip said that so far, he has had many remarkable achievements. It could be the number of views, the number of followers or even a steady income. However, the most valuable thing is bringing positive values to many people.
When going to the airport, the trip was recognized by many flight attendants and passengers. They happily greeted him, shook hands with him and said they liked to watch the videos he produced. Travip considers it a joy to have more friends everywhere. It seems like a positive thing for him to be more motivated to work in the pressured life of content creation or money.

However, “mental strength” is not the only thing that keeps Travip going. In the era when social media took the throne, there were countless content creators, maintaining attraction was not easy.
Viet Phuong said he has certain disadvantages in terms of age and manner compared to many young people. However, this does not really make Travip worry.
“I was also confused because I was afraid that the content was not young, a bit mainstream due to the familiar style of the press. However, instead of changing my approach, I aimed at the amount of information that viewers receive in each video.
With that way, the knowledge I bring is a lot. They are no longer surprised and know many more things that few people say about airplanes. Until now, many middle school and high school ‘grandchildren’ have watched my videos. That makes me proud because my approach still has its own interesting and unique features, “he said.
The review work is always questioned by readers about objectivity. Travip says that is understandable, but he can completely balance the principles of “immutable”.
In addition to the self-paid reviews, Travip said he was also paid by a number of companies. In these cases, he always emphasizes to his partner on the objectivity of the video, good or bad.
“For example, the food is not good, I will comment directly. The service is not good, I also say it. They accept and still pay for such videos,” he said.
Travip admits he is also often questioned about the boredom of focusing too much on videos about airplanes. However, according to this vlogger, every trip brings a new experience.
“If you are really passionate about airlines, you will always find great things. For example, this month there are new menu changes. Next month, another company adds a low-cost business upgrade service,” Travip said. “There is never an end to tell. Aviation is always innovating to attract customers.”

In the coming time, this vlogger hopes that Covid-19 vaccine will soon be effective in order to return to overseas travel as before. Currently, he said he is still living well, although he cannot exploit international travel content.
Although he is behind many young people, he still finds his own direction by searching for unknown stories. When he came to Tam Ky (Quang Nam), he was interested in the lup noodle shop, but unique thanks to the fresh noodle coating style.
