Nguyen Thanh Tuan, who lives in Ho Chi Minh City, has a 10-day camping trip in the Central Highlands and central coastal provinces. After going through 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam; Conquering 4 poles and one peak and set foot in 10 Southeast Asian countries, Tuan plans to cross Vietnam by motorbike for a long time, only camping, not staying at hotels.

The 10 places he stopped camping were: Ta Dung lake, Lak lake, Tan Son dam, Ba Hoang Monic waterfall, Nam O moss beach, Sa Huynh beach, Mui Dien, Nuoc Ngot beach, Red island, Ke Ga beach. “The 10-day trip is a test before I can go to more provinces,” Tuan shared.

Morning full of morning dew and white clouds by Ta Dung lake, Dak Nong. Departing from Ho Chi Minh City, Tuan went to Dak Nong, passed through Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, stopped at Da Nang, stopped along the coastal provinces on the way back to Ho Chi Minh City.

After two days of departure, Tuan was quite tired because he was not used to the rhythm of camping-style activities. On the third day, he regained his form and welcomed the beautiful sunset at the end of the day under the ancient kino tree by Lak Lake, Dak Lak.

Tuan said that every day he usually starts at 9am and ends at around 4pm to survey camping sites and cook dinner. The next morning, there is still hot coal from the kitchen, he will cook and then depart.

Tuan’s experience when camping for many days by motorbike is stopping at big gas stations to wash and clean, and also charge electronic devices from batteries or at restaurants.

Hon Do is one of Tuan’s favorite destinations because of its beautiful scenery, good weather, and easy access. Especially people are very friendly, good security. Hon Do is located in Thanh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district, Ninh Thuan province, the whole landscape is composed of coral reefs containing traces of ancient culture, attracting backpackers to explore.

Coming to Hon Do, Tuan also observed people harvesting purple onions in the fields covered with tiny white flowers mixed with green leaves.

Tuan checked-in the hundred-year-old Ca Na salt field, the largest salt granary in Ninh Thuan.

Although calling this trip “eating shore in the dust”, Tuan has had many different experiences. He is especially impressed with the cool climate, mild weather, clear roads at the places he has passed and is planning a new journey in the Southwest Sea.
