Local people and tourists flock to the Van Don orange festival (Quang Ninh) to experience the orange forests laden with ripe, fruity fruits.
Starting today (December 9), the 2023 Van Don orange festival will take place, in village 10/10, Van Yen commune (Van Don district). This is the first time the Van Don H. People’s Committee has organized this unique agricultural product festival.
According to the People’s Committee of Van Don District, Van Don orange week is organized to preserve, promote, introduce and promote the image and potential advantages of Van Yen commune in developing orange trees associated with promoting the form of orange trees. Community tourism experiences visiting orange gardens, thereby increasing people’s income. Orange Week is also an opportunity for people to honor orange growing households, contributing to the formation of local OCOP products.
Van Don oranges are planned to be planted in many communes with an area of more than 400 hectares but the largest concentration is in Van Yen commune. Oranges here are grown in large gardens. Up to now, the entire Van Yen commune has 68 households growing oranges.
The Van Yen orange variety of H.Van Don is famous as one of the typical agricultural products of Quang Ninh province with its fragrant and sweet taste. This crop is increasingly popular with the local consumer market as well as neighboring areas.
Not only is it economically valuable when consumed in many places, orange farms in Van Yen commune also combine it with experiential tourism for residents and tourists.
