The system of terraces in the main direction of the South, is built with large stone blocks of 10 steps, with 4 stone dragons divided into 3 equal paths to form the Dragon Shelf.
The steps are: horizontal 13.7m, vertical 4.45m, high 2.1m. The 1467 carved stone dragons are relatively intact stone sculptures.
Kinh Thien electric stone dragon is a masterpiece architectural artistic heritage, typical of sculpture art in the Le so period. Carved with green stone, the stone dragon has a high protruding head, big head, convex eyes, long branched horns, and a mane of mane. Dragon body curves softly into many arcs, gradually smaller towards the electric platform, on its back, there is a long, undulating fins like clouds, sparks.
The size, structure and decorative patterns of the rampart are not seen and are not repeated in other relics and archaeological relics of the same type.
The Kinh Thien power level system (commonly known as the Kinh Thien dragon citadel) was officially approved by the Prime Minister by decision to be recognized as a National Treasure from December 2020.
The carvings of dragonized clouds (the outside of the steps) at Dien Kinh Thien are the largest scale of ancient pattern carvings today.
String lotus flowers and other motifs represent Buddhist thought; The transition from the true representation of lotus in the Ly – Tran dynasty (XI – XIV) to the lotus motif with a blend of lotus, chrysanthemum and peony shows the influences and is increasingly dominant. The position of Confucianism in the Le early period (XV century).
The image of the dragon with the head held high, the legs with all five sharp nails and the dragon-shaped clouds shown on the steps is the image of the king’s power symbol.
2 steps touch the dragon in the middle and 2 steps touch the dragon clouds on the two sides create three paths up and down. In that the middle aisle is reserved for the king.
These are the walls of the main aisle of Dien Kinh Thien – the most important Palace in the palace system of the Forbidden City of Thang Long during the Le dynasty.
Today, this space has become a “double” relic for both eras: the Dien Kinh Thien of the ancient Thang Long Citadel and the General Command of the Vietnam People’s Army – an important historical relic in modern Vietnamese history line. It also regularly organizes major cultural events, exhibitions and exhibitions of works and art works that attract a large number of people and visitors to enjoy.
The electric foundation and terraces are the few remnants of the Le imperial palace architecture that have remained to this day, partly reflecting the majestic scale of ancient Dien Kinh Thien.
There is also a smaller 7-step up and down platform in the north compared to the main platform in the south. The two sides of the steps are two stone dragons dating back to Le Trung Hung (XVII-XVIII centuries).

These are extremely valuable artifacts, symbols of the intense vitality and longevity of the culture of the Vietnamese people.
