The ancient Streblus asper is more than 1000 years old, radiating green shade all year round in Hanoi

Nearly 20 elm trees in Duong Lam commune (Son Tay, Hanoi city) are confirmed by the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment to be thousands of years old.

The row above is located outside the field of Cam Lam village, in front of the temple area – the mausoleum of King Ngo Quyen.

This place is considered a sacred land, with the presence of two famous historical kings of the country (Bo Cai Dai Vuong Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen mausoleum).

Legend has it that this is the place where King Ngo Quyen used to make a place to tie elephants and horses after the exercises together with the insurgents to prepare to advance to the mouth of the Bach Dang river to fight the South Han army, end 1,000 years of domination, to establish Dai Viet dynasty.

According to the villagers here, in the past, the mountain range lasted for a kilometer. Over time, there are now only nearly 20 trees left.

Rang duoi is said to be the border separating the land of General Ngo Quyen (when not yet ascended to the throne) from other families.

From the mountains, turn to the area in the temple that is now the land of General Ngo Quyen. That convention was implemented from 944 (the year of King Ngo Quyen’s death) until now.

On April 22, 2011, the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment (VACNE) honored 18 ancient ruddy trees in Ngo Quyen’s tomb as the Vietnam Heritage Tree.
