LAM DONG – Tourists line up to take videos and take pictures in front of a mirror in Da Lat.

During the Tet holidays, many videos on the TikTok platform appear to capture a new trend: video recording in front of a large mirror. Specifically, according to this trend, a person will hold the phone while recording, approaching the large mirror, then the camera pans to the side of the mirror. The cameraman will then drag a person standing in the distance to the mirror with him.

Such videos quickly became a trend on TikTok, prompting many visitors to flock to the Green Smoke Valley cafe and other shops in Da Lat that had a large mirror in the yard to film. This platform records at least 2 videos with views over 1 million, many videos with views of several hundred thousand.

Thanh Tu, the owner of the account @thanhtu_1009 who owns a trending video, said that to have a video like this, it takes a long time to stand in the sun and wait in line, in return, the results do not waste sun exposure. Han, the owner of the account @haan4747, said that even though he was tired, he had to wait in line to film for fun.

However, many commenters were “bored” at the crowded queue scene when shooting a TikTok video. “I see too many videos on TikTok about this mirror, tourism is so industrial now”, one comment expressed frustration. “It’s too crowded, check-in is also not fun,” another comment shared. “Torturing the body like this is not a tourist resort”, one person commented harshly.

Many people consider this to be an interesting travel trend. The crowded scene is inevitable because Dalat is in the Tet tourist season and is overloaded. “People like to travel to check-in beautiful places. But now Dalat is overloaded, they have to accept it, if you want to relax, stay at home,” one person explained. “It’s too civilized to be able to queue for so many people, so it’s better to praise than criticize,” said one comment. In addition, many people also suggested that the cafe should arrange more mirrors to avoid long lines of visitors.
