About Truc Bach Lake

The origin of Truc Bach lake dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries when it was first born under King Le and Lord Trinh. Originally, Truc Bach Lake was part of the vast West Lake. However, in 1620, the inhabitants of Yen Hoa and Yen Quang built a dyke across the lake to raise fish. As a result, it was split into two lakes: the western part became West Lake and the eastern part became Truc Bach Lake . That dyke used to be called Co Ngu dike, now it’s Thanh Nien street.
